Questions & Answers

The Yeti Camp is the childcare facility in Arc 1950. The private 250m² chalet in the heart of the Arc 1950 village welcomes children in two groups: The Nursery for ages 9 to 35 months and the Club for ages 3 to 11 years.

It is very easy to get to Arc 1950 from Arc 2000. Just take the free “Cabriolet” gondola for a two-minute descent. Then, follow the village’s main street to reach our Yeti Camp chalet in less than 5 minutes.

For children aged 9 to 35 months, the bag should include diapers, pacifier, comfort toy, a complete change of clothes, hat, waterproof gloves, ski suit, waterproof boots, sleeping bag or wearable blanket, bottle if needed, sunglasses, ointment tube if necessary, and UV 50+ sunscreen.

For children aged 3 to 11 years, each must have their own bag with a water bottle, a snack, sunglasses, and UV 50+ sunscreen. In winter, the child should arrive wearing waterproof boots, ski suit, and thermal underwear, which the child will keep on while at the club, as well as a pair of waterproof gloves and a hat. In summer, a cap and a windbreaker jacket will be necessary.

You drop off your child at the ski lesson location corresponding to their level, either in Arc 1950 or Arc 2000 according to your booking. At the end of the lesson, our staff picks up the child to take them to the Yeti Camp, where lunch is served. You can pick up your child at 5 PM at the Yeti Camp. Pick-up is possible between 4 PM and 5 PM.

At Yeti Camp, we strive to offer outdoor activities as much as possible, depending on the weather conditions and each child’s interests.

In winter, for children over three years old, we offer sledding, igloo building, snowshoe walks, treasure hunts, tobogganing, snowboarding, and much more. Indoors, the club has a foosball table, giant Connect Four, building games, books, and more. The staff also organize drawing, painting, and other craft sessions.

In summer, we offer mountain biking, balance bike riding, tree-top obstacle courses, trampolining, hut building, treasure hunts, survival workshops, archery, among many other activities.

We have a “rest” area where children can lie down. If the nursery upstairs is not full, we can arrange naps in one of the available beds. However, it is still recommended that children under 6 years old attend only half-day sessions with meals, so the child can rest with you.

We do not have changing facilities for children over 3 years old. Your child must be potty trained for us to welcome them under the best conditions, whether at the club or during ski lessons.

Meals are included if you have chosen the meal option. Meals are prepared by one of the village restaurateurs and eaten within the club. The weekly menu is available at the club reception on Sundays and is fixed. If your child follows a special diet (vegetarian, for example), please inform us when booking.

For nursery children who are still weaning or not yet eating solid pieces, we provide “prepared baby meals.” In case of food allergies, parents must provide the appropriate meal for their child, transported in an insulated bag, clearly labeled with the child’s name and surname.

For morning arrivals, the child must be dropped off before 10 AM. For afternoon arrivals, the child must be dropped off before 3 PM. We ask parents to pick up their children at least ten minutes before the Yeti Camp closes, to allow time to share the day’s information.

Unfortunately, our guidelines require us to accept only children who are at least 9 months old. And as long as the child is not yet three years old, they will be in the nursery, not the club.

Within the nursery, the staff is required to be qualified. The facility is managed by a director with an EJE (Early Childhood Educator) diploma. The rest of the team consists of childcare assistants, personnel holding a CAP (Professional Aptitude Certificate) in Early Childhood, and a nurse. One staff member supervises a maximum of 4 children.

Within the Club, all staff hold either a BAFA (Certificate of Aptitude for Youth Work) or a BPEJPS (Professional Certificate in Youth, Popular Education, and Sports). One staff member supervises a maximum of 8 children.

When you book, a health form is sent to you. It is mandatory to return it completed, along with the requested documents, before the child’s arrival at the Yeti Camp. This form allows us to know any potential illnesses or allergies of each child and to adapt the program accordingly. Some vaccinations are mandatory as we follow national safety guidelines for young children in childcare facilities.

For certain conditions (casts or splints), the child is accepted only upon presentation of a medical certificate stating that the child can participate in group activities and proposed programs. Children from specialized institutions may be admitted after their situation has been reviewed.

The child must be in good health when brought to the facility. Any child with a fever will not be accepted. If a child develops a fever during the day, parents will be notified by phone and must pick up their child. The same applies to all contagious illnesses.

For safety reasons, small objects such as jewelry and necklaces are prohibited. Valuable items like mobile phones and wallets are not allowed inside the facility and must remain with the parents.

Winter bookings open in July, directly through our website, by phone, or by email. Reservations can be made up to the day before, subject to availability. Registration is confirmed upon full payment and receipt of all required documents.

In summer, the Yeti Camp is open exclusively for children over 3 years old.

In summer, for the Yeti Camp, à la carte bookings are no problem.

In winter, whether at the Nursery or the Club, advance bookings are only made weekly, from Sunday to Friday. If you want to book just occasional half-days, you will need to come to us upon arrival, and we will check availability together.

The Yeti Camp is open in summer and winter, according to the opening dates of the Les Arcs resort. It welcomes children from Sunday to Friday, with Saturday being the staff’s day off.

Great week for our 18-month-old daughter! The nursery is new, full of activities for little ones, and especially very well supervised. Lots of kindness and care from the professionals, not to mention the daily sledding. Thank you for this wonderful holiday! Benoit and Berenice.

Thanks again to all of you. (Thanks to Camille for her explanations over the phone, and for being very responsive by email!) Thank you all!!

Awesome – my children (2.5 years and 10 months) spent half-days and full days there in March ’25. They loved their week: the kindness of the caregivers, the amount of toys (pedal bikes, slide, mats…), they were happy to go back every day 🙂 Thanks a lot!
